Parent Education and Support Meeting
Guest speaker: Dr. Pam Ajang, Clinical Neurophyscologist
"Diagnostic Testing for Learning Differences"
- What do your chlid's test results really mean? How can the diagnosis assist you in better
understanding your child's strengths and weaknesses?
- Is ther a differnce between using a school psychologist a private clinical psychologist?
- Now that you have a diagnosis, what's the next step in setting your child up for sucess? Where do you go for help?
NOVEMBER 18:
Parent Education and Support Meeting featuring:
Dr. Leonard Baker, M.D., from the Descanso Medical Center
Dr. Baker has a wonderful facility in La Canada that focuses on diagnosis
and ongoing support for children with learning differences and their
families. He is very knowledgeable about the neurology behind these
learning issues and will be sharing
his expertise and practical information at our meeting. You won’t
want to miss
this special meeting!!
JANUARY 23:
Special Event at the Norris Theater in Rolling Hills Estates featuring:
RICK LAVOIE - a well known educator and expert in the
field of learning differences and who has worked extensively with LD/ADHD
children and their families.
7:00 to 9:00 PM

Please note that there will be no meetings during the month of September
due to back-to-school conflicts. Also, we will not meet during December,
April, or the summer months due to school holiday and vacation conflicts.
The “Walk and Talks” held last year have been cancelled
due to low turnout.
All Parent Meetings will be held at the Palos Verdes Peninsula
Unified School District Administrative Building in the Board Meeting
Room. It is located at 3801 Via la Selva in Palos Verdes Estates.
Directions: From Hawthorne and Palos Verdes Drive
North, drive west toward the beach for approximately 1½ miles.
Turn right on Via Adarme. You will see the school building straight
ahead. When you get to the end of the block, turn right on Via la Selva.
Then make a left turn into the parking lot and head left again toward
the flagpole. The meeting room is located right behind this flagpole.
There will be a sign posted outside so you will know that you found
the right spot.
